ECV-IMU Inertial Measurement Unit
Jewell Instruments’ offers ECV-IMU Series initial measurement units which assure high accuracy in a small package. This inertial measurement unit is a cost efficient, low power consuming device which provides stable azimuth, pitch, and roll measurements in dynamic conditions. This sensor consists of 3-axis angular rate gyros, 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis magnetometer, and optional 2-axis electrolytic tilt sensor. These IMUs have a wide operating range and are factory calibrated. Hence, they offer an accurate and fast output through RS-485.

ECS eCompass Series

Model 701 Platform Tiltmeter Series
The Model 701-2 Platform mount tiltmeter is our most popular design for high precision tilt measurements. Units come with built-in invar leveling legs, for easy installation on any horizontal surface. The A701-2 also includes two switchable gains and two low-pass filter settings. Using an absolute gravity-referenced electrolytic sensor, the A701 delivers ultra-high sensitivity to <0.1 µrad with virtually zero long-term drift. The output is a stable ±8 DC voltage (±16 VDC differential). The D701 digital version has onboard memory, with a storage capacity of up to 22,000 samples.
ECC eCompass Series
The ECC-2D Series is a low-cost 2D digital compass in a small package with low power consumption and high reliability designed for commercial and industrial users.
LILY Self-Leveling Borehole Tiltmeter
Using a high-precision electrolytic tilt sensor, units deliver resolutions to 5 nano radians; the dynamic range is ±330 µradians. Units also feature a ±10 deg. leveling range for easy installation downhole. Output is RS-232 or RS-422 (RS-485 full-duplex) and includes timestamp and compass bearing. Data can be saved to file externally or to LILY’s on-board flash memory (75,000 sample max) using fill/stop or cyclic memory modes.
Units are fully submersible to 3000 psi. Titanium is also available for +5000 psi applications. The culmination of over 30 years of tilt sensor experience and expertise, the LILY represents the pinnacle in precision sensor engineering.
Model 875 Mini Tuff Tilt
The model 875 Mini “Tuff Tilt” Tiltmeter combines high precision and durability in a miniaturized and economical instrument package. Using MEMS technology, the 875 delivers superior measurement accuracy with virtually no long-term drift and a resolution of 0.05°. Output options include 0.5-4.5Vdc, 4-20mA and digital RS-485. All units are rated IP67 waterproof for advanced protection from the elements. LCF-3500 Series Linear Accelerometer
The Jewell LCF-3500 Series Flexure Suspension Fluid Damped Tri-Axial Accelerometer is a ±0.5G to ±5G device designed for applications where high levels of shock and vibration are present. LCF units are characterized by excellent turn on repeatability and very low hysteresis.
DMS Digital MEMS Inclinometer
The model DMS is a mid-level performance digital MEMS inclinometer for industrial applications. Standard units are available in RS-232, RS-485 and UART TTL interface options. All DMS series inclinometers are rated IP67 for waterproofing up to 1m. Custom ranges and output types are also available on request.
ECG eCompass Series
If your compass application involves vibration, acceleration, uneven terrain, or rough seas, the ECG Series, a gyro-stabilized electronic compass, is an uncompromising solution that will outperform rival units that cost more. The ECG provides remarkably accurate heading, pitch, and roll in dynamic conditions. It all starts with a precision 3-axis solid-state magnetometer. Two angular rate gyros independently stabilize pitch and roll. They augment a dual-axis, electrolytic tilt sensor that provides precise tilt measurements in static environments. Two sets of independent filters, one set for pitch and one for roll, combine gyro and electrolytic sensor measurements to provide the best available tilt measurements.
IRIS-SC Digital Signal Conditioning Card
The IRIS-SC digital signal conditioning card is a powerful control device designed for use with all Jewell miniature tilt sensors. Output is ASCII RS-232 or RS-422(485) serial. Standard firmware includes five user-programmable alarm/trigger thresholds for tilts tilt switch/control applications. When a selected threshold is reached, the circuitry sets the output high
on one of the pins in the H3 control connector. Other firmware features include user-programmable data output rates, sample averaging, autozero (nulling), and baud rate. The IRIS-SC can also log up to 22,000 samples to internal memory for data dump/download on user command.
All IRIS-SC units include calibration when ordered with Jewell miniature tilt sensors (specify calibrated range on order).
Model 801 “Tuff Tilt” Tiltmeter Series
The Model 801 “Tuff Tilt” Tiltmeter series combines high precision and durability in an economical instrument package. Using an absolute gravity referenced electrolytic sensor, the 801 series delivers superior measurement accuracy with virtually no long-term drift. Units are available in a variety of configurations including single axis (uniaxial), or dual axis (biaxial), analog, digital, or 4-20mA outputs.
All units are rated IP65 waterproof for advanced protection from the elements.
