Modutec MC1 movements are technically advanced and offer outstanding features not found in other 250° movements. Their unusually small size and their refined taut-band suspension mean high performance in the area of accuracy, tracking, and repeatability. Their unique design includes shock limiters and vibration stops which combined with optional Fluidyne®
viscous damping gives them exceptional durability and stability in difficult environments.
Mounting is usually by means of three tapped brass standoffs which are swaged to either the front or the back of the movement, as ordered, permitting installation within its 1.25″ O.D.
Dials can be mounted to standoffs on the front of the movement; however, MC1 movements are usually ordered with a universal mounting plate (see drawing) installed. This not only serves as a dial mount but also coordinates with the mounting requirements of many domestic and imported movements. Note that front standoffs are not available when the universal mounting plate is installed.
Standard movements come without front and back dust caps. Either or both will be installed when specified on order.

The IRIS Tilt Switch and Controller is a powerful tilt controller device that combines a digital, dual-axis clinometer and advanced firmware features in one compact unit. This remarkable instrument enables you to measure and respond to rotational movements in any direction concerning the unchanging gravity vector. Units ship standard with a 24-inch hook-up cable. IRIS is an ideal choice for OEM applications, where it can be used to maintain platform levelness, avoid tip-over conditions, prevent out-of-range movement, and perform other control functions.
The S Series Surface Mount Panel Meters are clean-cut meters with straightforward design and pleasing aspect ratio are leaders of the Modutec line and add distinction to any instrument or control panel. Available in five sizes and a wide variety of types and ranges, they resolve many problems for the equipment designer and are always a solid choice for function and appearance.
AC Meters in this series are available in both moving coil (rectifier type) and iron vane versions. The latter has the virtue of being relatively insensitive to input distortion, while the rectifier type is less affected by frequency variations.
The Modutec 1000 takes the guesswork out of reading a small, low-cost, digital panel meter. These meters have an over-range indication of the rated value and auto-zero when there is no input signal. They also feature auto polarity which visually clues the user to a negative reading.
The Modutec 1000 features a 0.3-inch digit display in red or green for hard-to-read applications. Choose from bezel or window mount snap-on bezel – neither of which need extra hardware or panel holes. At 1.34″ x 0.75″ and panel depth less than 0.8″ these meters are easy to read, small units that fit into almost any application.
The pointer type frequency meters, FM 48/72/96/144 are housed in molded polycarbonate cases are suitable for the measurement of frequencies in the range of 45 to 450 Hz. For maximum accuracy, the essential measuring range is obtained by suppressing the unwanted frequency span. These instruments offer several advantages in switchboard and generating set panels. A number of meters can be mounted in a panel cut out (mosaic mounting). The front glass, bezel, and dial can be easily replaced.
The dual-axis Model 900 is an inexpensive, gravity-referenced clinometer with analog voltage output and compact dimensions. Sold without a housing, its small size and performance make it an excellent choice for many OEM, test, and measurement applications. It is available in high-gain, standard, and wide-angle versions, each with a different angular range. Model 900 accepts a wide input voltage range and provides high-level single-ended outputs that are easily measured with any voltmeter or digital recording system. Viscous damping and temperature measurement are available as options.
HR Thermoplastic front with steel back shields this meter from magnetic fields. Available size 3. 5″.
The PB Series was designed to meet the expressed need of many customers for meters with a hard-hitting, big-dial area “industrial” look.
PB Series meters are available in many sizes, types, and ranges. Mounting stud configuration complies with ANSI standards: the number of studs is as follows: 1½” meters – 2 studs; 2½” & 3½” meters – 3 studs; 4½” meters – 4 studs. Meters in sizes 1½”, 2½”, and 3½” can be supplied in 4- stud versions at no extra cost.
AC meters in this series are offered in both d’Arsonval (rectifier type) and iron-vane versions. The latter has the virtue of greater standard accuracy and relative insensitivity to input distortion, while the rectifier type is less affected by frequency variations.
The World Meters incorporate Modutec’s third-generation taut-band/moving-coil movement – unmatched in any competitive production meter, anywhere – with a space-efficient case and dial configuration that takes about 30% less space than conventional panel meters. The result is a rugged and accurate meter with unique and desirable features, at a very economical price.
The pointer type frequency meters, FML 96 and FML 144 housed in molded polycarbonate cases are used for the measurement of frequencies in the range of 45 to 450 Hz. For maximum accuracy, the essential measuring range is obtained by suppressing the unwanted frequency span. These instruments offer several advantages in switchboards and panel cut out. A number of meters can be mounted in a panel cut-out (mosaic mounting). The front glass, bezel, and dial can be easily replaced.
Useful space-saving meters in two sizes, interchangeable with many costly d’Arsonval meters or moving magnet meters from other sources. All sizes feature flush-to-panel covers without the bulge that disfigures many edgewise meters. A low-cost option provides internal illumination through a translucent dial – sophisticated lighting unusual in any economy meter, let alone an edgewise type.
The A&M Model 4951 power factor meters are designed to meet the requirements of MIL-M-19261 and MIL-M-16034. They are supplied as either self-contained or as a “matched-set” with the external transducer. In the external transducer configuration, the transducer is matched to the meter. Both configurations are sealed watertight.
The moving iron panel meters, DE 48/72/96/144 housed in cases made of molded polycarbonate are suitable for the measurement of AC currents for the frequency range of 15 to 400 Hz and voltages in the frequency range of 15 to 100Hz. Moving iron meters indicate RMS values practically independent of waveform even of high harmonics. An error of indication may occur for extreme waveforms (e.g. phase gating controls) & for frequencies above 100KHz.
These meters offer several advantages in switchboards and generating set panels. A number of meters can be mounted in a panel cutout mosaic mounting. For CT-operated ammeters, dials can be fitted based on CT ratio. Glass and bezel can easily be replaced.
